Playa Blanca is located on the south of the island
and still retains the atmosphere of a once small fishing
village. This flourishing but tranquil resort is ideal
for family and for people looking for relaxation: with
its beach borderlined by picturesque restaurants and a
shop lined promenade, it is always almost basked in warm
sunshine and offers superb views of the mountains and
the islands of Los Lobos and Fuerteventura.
The resort has a stunning new marina, with a host of
waterfront cafes, restaurants and upmarket shops. A
weekly market is held there. Within a short drive are
the magnificent Papagayo beaches, considered by many the
most beautiful in Spain.
From the harbour at Playa Blanca, ferries cross several
times a day to Fuerteventura, only a 20 minute sail
away.
